OHFRC Special Programs

Our Home Family Resource Center offers 3 special programs; the Back-to-School Program, the Winter Warmth Program, and the Angel Tree Program. Each program is designed to serve a specific need for children in the county.

Back to School Program

During July, eligible families can register their children online (or by phone if they do not have internet access) for the program. During this same period, we will welcome supplies or funds from charitable organizations and individuals in Mercer County. We appreciate you sharing this information with those you believe may want to be involved.

Registration for 2023 is Currently Closed – Check back here in July. Click HERE to set up a reminder to register.

Our Home will accept applications and donations from July 1st through July 28th, 2023. After applying, supplies will be available to pick up on August 11, 2023.

The 2023 school supply distribution day is to be determined. Please check back in June for updated information. The Pick-up day and time are subject to change. Follow us on Facebook for updates.

Donations may be brought to Our Home through August 4th (above says through July?). Most needed are quality book bags, solid color pocket folders, glue bottles/sticks, Classic Crayola Markers, colored pencils, 24-count Crayola crayons, #2 pencils (not mechanical), pink erasers, tissues, Black Expo markers, red pens, wide-rule filler paper, and highlighters. You may drop items off at Our Home (want to include hours?), or you can shop our Amazon wish list and have items shipped directly to Our Home. Monetary donations are also helpful and used to purchase supplies and cover the costs associated with the program. Thank you for supporting Our Home’s programs. Your care and support make a difference.

Winter Warmth Program

2023 Mercer County Winter Warmth Program

This program is a partnership with the Celina Kiwanis Club and Our Home working to distribute free coats, hats, gloves, & scarves to Mercer County children & adults in need. Around 500 Mercer County residents benefit from this program yearly.

We will remain open until 2 PM or until coats are gone, whichever comes first.

Angel Tree Program

2023 Mercer County Angel Tree Program

The Mercer County Angel Tree Program works with churches, businesses, organizations, and individuals in the area to provide gifts for children of income-eligible families in Mercer County. Each year, the goal is to provide each child with two toys and one outfit. Last year, we brought smiles to the faces of 776 children in 336 Mercer County families.

Registration for 2023 is Currently Closed – It will open on November XX, 2023. Click HERE to set up a registration reminder.

If you are a Mercer County resident facing financial hardship and need help obtaining Christmas gifts for your children, you are welcome to register. Our Home will open registration on November XX, 2023, and close registration on November XX, 2023. All registrations must be on time to be accepted.

After applying, you will receive a confirmation email if you are approved for the program. Bring that email and photo identification to Celina First Church of God at 850 Fairground Rd, Celina, on Friday, December X, 2023, at the time designated in your confirmation email.

Check back in the Summer of 2023 for updated information on how to be part of 2023 Angel Tree’s magic.
