OHFRC Special Programs

Our Home Family Resource Center offers 3 special programs; the Back-to-School Program, the Winter Warmth Program, and the Angel Tree Program. Each program is designed to serve a specific need for children in the county.

Back to School Program

During July, eligible families can register their children online (or by phone if they do not have internet access) for the program. During this same period, we will welcome supplies or funds from charitable organizations and individuals in Mercer County. We appreciate you sharing this information with those you believe may want to be involved.

Registration:

Registration for 2023 is open from Monday, July 3, 2023, through Thursday, July 27, 2023, and we will be accepting applications at that time. Please click here to apply. After applying, supplies will be available to pick up on Thursday, August 10, 2023.

Distribution:

The 2023 school supply distribution day is Thursday, August 10, 2023. The Pick-up day and time are subject to change. Follow us on Facebook for updates.

Donations:

Our Home will accept donations from July 1 through August 4, 2023.

Donations may be brought to Our Home through August 4. Most needed items are quality book bags, solid color pocket folders, glue bottles/sticks, classic Crayola markers, black Expo markers, Crayola colored pencils, 24-count Crayola crayons, #2 pencils (not mechanical), pink erasers, tissues, red pens, wide-rule filler paper, and highlighters. You may drop items off at Our Home during office hours or shop our Amazon wish list https://a.co/g9zhUwf and have items shipped directly to Our Home. Monetary donations are also helpful and used to purchase supplies not donated and cover the costs associated with the program. Thank you for supporting Our Home’s programs. Your care and support make a difference.

Angel Tree Program

2023 Mercer County Angel Tree Program

The Mercer County Angel Tree Program works with churches, businesses, organizations, and individuals in the area to provide gifts for children of income-eligible families in Mercer County. The goal is to give each child with two toys and one outfit. Last year, we brought smiles to the faces of 776 children in 336 Mercer County families.
