The Empty Bowls Mercer County 2020 Campaign kick-offs with a marathon “Create A Bowl” painting party on Saturday, January 18, at Brew Nation/Potters House on Main where 100 community members will come together to create 200 hand-painted bowls for the “Empty Bowls Dinner & Auction” that will be held on April 4, 2020. The goal for Empty Bowls Mercer County 2020 Campaign is $27,500.

Come alone, or gather your friends … “Create A Bowl” is a great way to spend a cold January day. You do not have to be a great artist or particularly creative (although, admittedly, some volunteers are) … all you need is the desire to make a difference in your community. And, trust me, you will be making a difference because your support of the Empty Bowls Mercer County 2020 Campaign will be funding Our Home’s programs, filling the empty bowls of your Mercer County neighbors, and sowing hope into their lives during times of despair.

Plus, it’s really easy to join in the fun!

First, reserve a time to paint (two hour session):

  • Call 419-586-4663 to register yourself or your group. Painting begins at 8:00am and ends at 6:00pm.
  • Up to 30 painters can be scheduled at each session: 8am-10am, 10am-12pm, 12pm-2pm, 2pm-4pm, and 4pm-6pm.

Next, donate or collect money ($25 minimum per painter):

  •  If you raise $50.00 or more in donations, you will be entered into a raffle for a chance to win prizes.

Then, come to Brew Nation January 18th, ready to paint:

  • Turn in your donations at the registration desk, and receive your two bowls
  • You will have two hours to paint your bowls, the color and design is left to your own imagination (color of paints provided: red, gold, blue, purple, and black).
