Our Home Family Resource Center received word that they have received a grant from Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation. Through its charitable foundation, Dominion Energy invests in organizations and programs that improve the quality of life in the geographic areas where the company provides electricity or natural gas service, or has significant facilities or business interests.
This grant will support Our Home’s on-going efforts to help Mercer County residents overcome emergencies or respond to unexpected expenses through its Direct Services & Referral Program. The Direct Services program is designed to help folks find stability in uncertain situations. Crisis assistance may be in the form of vouchers for emergency financial needs, referrals to partner agencies, or in many cases … both. This grant helps Our Home’s on-going efforts to supply residents of Mercer County with somewhere to turn in their time of need.
In addition to direct financial assistance and referrals, the Direct Services program provides a food pantry stocked with canned fruits and vegetables, meat, pastas, soup, milk, and other assorted items. The food pantry also offers personal care items such as soap, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, toilet paper and diapers.
Direct Services & Referral program hours are 8:30am-12:00pm & 1:00pm-4:30pm Monday through Thursday; the food pantry operates Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30am-12:00pm and 1:00pm-3:00pm.
