Mercer County Angel Tree represents this county’s commitment to ensuring all children have gifts under the Christmas tree, including yours. This project is a collaborative effort between Our Home Family Resource Center & Job and Family Services; area businesses, agencies, churches and other community organizations purchase gifts and donate funds to provide gifts for children in income-eligible families.
Invitations to participate in Mercer County Angel Tree were mailed to over 950 income-eligible households in October. These invitations included an application for parents to fill out and return to Our Home Family Resource Center by November 15. From these applications, gift tags can be created specific to the age, gender, and clothing sizes for your children so that we know what type of gifts are needed.
If you have children under the age of 16 and you need help this year, stop by Our Home Family Resource Center, 117 West Fayette Street in Celina, on or before November 15th.
You will need to:
- Stop in Our Home between the hours of 9-12 and 1-4 Monday through Thursday
- Review your completed Angel Tree application with the receptionist (verify sizes/ages)
- Schedule a Christmas shopping appointment for Friday, December 7th
On Friday, December 7th, you will “go Christmas shopping” for your children, selecting an outfit and two toys for each (12 and under). After your shopping is complete, all these gifts will be wrapped and packaged to be taken home and placed under the family tree. Prepackaged gift bags will be provided for your children who are 13-15 years of age. Please note: Children are not permitted to attend shopping day.
