Since 1990 Empty Bowl events have been held all across America in efforts to raise awareness of, and      support for, programs & organizations that serve unmet needs of folks in the community. Our Home Family Resource Center has adopted Empty Bowls as our signature fundraising event because it seemed a       perfect fit for our organizational vision of “Empowering People to Grow from Crisis to Hope”!

We are kicking-off the 1st Annual Empty Bowls Mercer County with our “Create A Bowl” painting event at Brew Nation/Potters House (Celina) on January 20, 2018.  Proceeds from the event will support Our Home’s programs, projects, and services.

Plus, each uniquely painted bowl from this event will represent a family, a child, a senior, a person between  addresses, someone struggling with illness, or someone who feels helpless, hopeless, and hungry…unmet needs in our community and the bowls created will here provide us with over 200 vessels for our Empty Bowls Dinner & Auction on April 14, 2018.

There are three different ways you can support Our Home’s “Create A Bowl” event – as a team captain, as an individual painter, or as a sponsor/donor. Team Captains gather 2-6 of their friends and colleagues to raise money ($20 minimum per member) and paint bowls. Individual painters join the Our Home team, gather donations/sponsors ($20 minimum), and paint bowls. Sponsors/donors provide financial support for teams and/or individuals.

The funds generated through Empty Bowls Mercer County will be used to support Our Home’s current    programs and expand initiatives designed to “assist people in their time of need, motivate them to develop and achieve their goals, and inspire their confidence and self-sufficiency”.

*Our Home Family Resource Center is a nonprofit, 501c3 organization. Donations are tax-deductible. Visit for detailed information about the programs, projects, and services we provide.
