Menards General Manager, Dom Baumstark, and Assistant General Manager, Jay Lepley, stopped by Our Home Family Resource Center today to deliver the food items Celina Menards customers donated during the store’s March food drive.
We are thankful for the donation and impressed by the wide variety of meats, cereals, juices, and convenience foods the boxes contained – a true testament to the range of merchandise customers can find at our local Menards!
The on-going generosity of individual community members and regional corporations supports much of Our Home’s work toward assisting Mercer County residents during their times of need. The food pantry we operate works to strengthen individuals and families in the community by providing food and personal items to address some of their immediate needs.
AND, even in Mercer County, where the unemployment rate is only around 3%, the chance of food insecurity can be great. A recent assessment by Mercer County Head Start indicated that nearly 8% of the population in this county lives below poverty level.
Our Home is located at 117 West Fayette Street in Celina. The food pantry is offered through Our Home’s Direct Services & Referral Program and operates Tuesday & Thursday from 9:30am-12:00pm and 1:00pm-3:00pm.
