Services are available for Mercer County Residents Only

 Food Pantry

The food pantry offers canned fruits and vegetables, meat, pastas, soup, milk and various other items. The items will vary, depending on availability from the WOFB and from personal donations. 

 Food Pantry Operating Hours: 

Tuesday and Thursday – 9:00 thru 12:00 and 1:00 thru 2:30

Eligibility:

Each Family can obtain food one time per month – amounts received will be based on size of family. 

To receive food from the Our Home Food Pantry, clients must qualify under the USDA Federal and State guidelines.  Clients must complete and sign a USDA Eligibility To Take Home form, provide proof of residency of Mercer County and provide a picture identification.

Clothing Closet

Our Home offers gently worn clothing to clients and members of their households at no cost to the client.

Clothing Closet Operating Hours:

Tuesday – 9:00 thru 12:00 and 1:00 thru 3:00

Eligibility:

Clients may obtain a supply of clothing one time per season.  If your needs are not met, you may return at a later time to check availability again.  We provide clothing to men, women and children, such as jeans, shirts, jackets, coats, socks, etc.  We do not keep a stock of shoes on hand.  An Intake form must be completed or verified once every six months.

Personal Items, Laundry Detergent, Diapers, Baby Food and Formula:

Personal items, such as soap, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, toilet paper, laundry detergent and dish washing liquid are available to our clients and may be picked up during business hours.  Also diapers, baby food and formula are sometimes available, though limited.  These are all provided by personal donations and availability will vary.

 Eligibility: Eligibility is based on income.  An Intake form must be completed or verified once every six months in order to receive this service.  You may receive personal and baby items once a month. ______________________________________________________________________________

 Emergency Financial Assistance and Referral 

Our Home provides referral and some emergency financial assistance for the following items:

·         Rent Eviction

·      Utility Shutoff

·         Medical Appointments

·         Prescriptions

·         Gas Vouchers for Medical Appointments outside the county

Services are provided depending on household income guidelines.  An Intake form must be completed and verified once every six months.  Proof of income must be provided.  Proof of need must be verified; eviction notice, utility shutoff notice, medical appointment or prescription verification.

 If you are a Medicaid recipient, you must seek transportation through JFS/Sources and if they cannot provide transportation, we must have verification in writing that they are unable to transport you to your appointment before we will provide a gas voucher.  You will need to contact them 24/48 hrs in advance.

We have written guidelines which you must adhere to in order to receive these services.  Those guidelines will be provided at the time you come in for your initial appointment.

 The Direct Services and Referral Program (food, personal supplies, baby items, utility shutoff and rent evictions) is supported totally by generous donations from the community.

 The Clothing Closet is supported by donations from the community of gently worn clothing and by volunteers who man the closet during hours of operation.
